華埠「福安康寧」健康日 周六登場
紐約長老會下城醫院(New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital)與聖公會紐約救主堂5日宣布，訂於8日（周六）舉辦「華埠健康日」活動，免費提供健康資訊、健康篩檢、兒童遊戲等活動，歡迎關心健康的民眾參加。
聖公會紐約救主堂法政牧師王玉瑛日前在記者會上表示，「華埠健康日」活動已舉辦23年，「很多華裔移民不會英文或沒有保險，無法獲取相關健康資訊，舉辦健康日活動是提供一個免費諮詢、看病的平台，幫助他們了解健康資訊。」
王玉瑛表示，今年的「華埠健康日」活動將為民眾免費提供健康篩檢，體檢項目包括量血壓、血糖篩檢、膽固醇篩檢、牙齒檢查和醫療保健諮詢；有意參加血糖篩檢的民眾，檢查前需空腹或兩小時內禁食。
除了免費體檢之外，主辦方還將為民眾提供抽獎和兒童遊戲活動；王玉瑛介紹，當日將有一輛救護車在現場，供民眾參觀。
「華埠健康日」並將進行健康和交通安全講座，來自紐約市交通局教育安全和外展辦公室的工作人員繆凱東將為民眾普及交通安全知識。
「華埠健康日」將於9月8日上午10時至下午2時舉行，地點是顯利街(Henry St.)48號聖公會紐約救主堂，有意參加的民眾可致電（212）233-2899以及（212）312-5740查詢。
